CG Gold

The CG Gold information management system was designed in-house by Cosmo Graphis' own team of specialist developers.

Today the same specialists are behind the expertise that drives the innovations that maintain it's enviable position within the document management system marketplace.

Designed as an open-ended system; CG Gold allows the user to add new information to it at any time.

This information can take the form of

  • scanned images,text, data, audio clips,
  • word processor documents or
  • any form of computer generated storage format

Its flexible media support allows retrieval from both permanent and removable media including microfilm, CD ROM and both locally attached or network served disk storage.

Powerful Secure Software

The extensive and powerful configuration features, developed during CG Gold's impressive heritage, allow Cosmo Graphis to tailor information management systems to meet each client's individual and differing requirements.

  • In consultation with each client a number of profiles are agreed.
  • Each profile defines a document set and its associated search indexes.
  • At the same time end-user populations are configured.

CG Gold's access control system restricts each user to a fixed set of profiles, and provides limitations to their capabilities within each.

Documents are securely held within a CG Gold information management system. They are not retained or directly accessible in any 'native' form but are encrypted, with each client being allocated an unique key.

Bureau Operation

Documents are collected by Cosmo Graphis' own transport and bought to their purpose-built secure facilities.

Turnaround is fast. Documents with fully indexed CD ROMs are normally returned next day.

Initially documents are scanned using equipment with the latest built-in image enhancement and correction systems to ensure the highest image accuracy.

Then the images are manually indexed, allowing a second quality assurance stage to be performed.

In the final stage of production the images are 'batched together' incorporating their encryption.

As the batches are built up a final automatic check ensures that each stored image can be retrieved and displayed.

Once on the client's site the CG Gold administration module, CG Admin, takes the bureau CD and updates the document search indexes and incorporates the batches into the main system.

Cosmo Graphis will design and commission a document imaging system on your site exactly suited to your requirements.

The CG Bureau system facilitates the scanning and indexing of large volumes of paperwork and is in use by a number of companies throughout the United Kingdom.

Typical installations include
  • scanners from Bell+Howe, Kodak & Canon
  • computer hardware and peripherals from Hewlett Packard, Compaq, Dell
  • with CG Bureau system software.

CG Bureau systems are identical to those we use in-house so you can rest assured that a system is fully supported and futureproof. Once installed, Cosmo Graphis provide a constant back-up service and support to ensure that the system continues to work to optimum capacity.
