CG Gold from Cosmo Graphis is a fully featured and highly tailorable information management package. It can be configured to meet the widest range of client requirements.

Based on industry standard computer and micrographics equipment its design ensures integration with any existing system.

Designed as an open-ended system; CG Gold allows the user to add new information to it at any time.

CG Gold Retrieve

CG Gold information retrieval comprises four principal modules:

  • profile explorer
  • index search screen
  • thumbnail browser
  • document viewer

CG Gold's media architecture integrates the use of both digital and microfilm storage formats. Its powerful support for removable media allows information to be spread across multiple CD ROM volumes, various rolls of microfilm alongside conventional file served on-line media.

Systems are secure based upon user populations associated with specific document profiles that govern their access and distribution capabilities.

Encryption of information stored within CG Gold's document management system ensures access controls to information can not be circumvented.

Operating Environment

Based upon standard computer architectures CG Gold is fully extensible from single standalone PCs to corporate networks encompassing multiple servers.

CG Gold's innovative design supports the distributed networking of 'thin client' PCs.

It is also available as a true internet (or intranet) client.

Access Profiles

Access to any CG Gold system requires users to 'log on', supplying a username and password. A user's associated 'profile' determines their capabilities within the system.

Documents within a CG Gold system also have profiles. These control which users have access to the information inside. Thus, after logging in, users only get to see the document profiles they are entitled to.

The document profile also protects the confidentiallity and integrity of the information within governing its distribution; whether it may be saved, faxed or emailed.

System Administration

CG Gold systems are extensible and dynamic by design. Both document and user profiles may be modified at any time to reflect changes as a system develops. The CG Admin module allows suitably authorised users to manage their system through a user friendly interface.

Document Linking

The document linking feature allows users to identify common links between any number of document types stored within a system.

Once a document is retrieved, a single click of the mouse will reveal a list of all associated documents linked to it.

For example, an order reference number could be used to link an order, its invoice and its delivery note

Automatic Indexing

Close integration with corporate mainframe systems is facilitated through CG Gold's auto-indexing and computer output support features. In the case where documents have been produced by a computer system, for example account statements or invoices, a set of search keys maybe imported directly into CG Gold to auto-index the associated images.

CG Computer Aided Retrieval

CG Gold supports the efficient computer aided retrieval (CAR) of images directly from 'blip coded' microfilm with suitably attached PC reader printers.

After searching and successfully locating a document CG Gold will prompt the user to load the appropriate roll of microfilm (if it isn't already) and then command the reader to spool directly to the required frame.

With typical access times of around 30 seconds ... the system isn't slow !!!

COLD Conversion

CG Gold's integrated COLD (Computer Output to Laser Disc) technology takes computer generated print files, either be scanned in or downloaded from a mainframe computer (for example, sales invoices), and stores the data using pre-determined search keys. The data can then be retrieved and reprinted as an exact copy.

The recreation of formatted paperwork from saved data combined with overlaid images unites CG Gold's support for COLD technology with its document management capabilities.
